Asalamu Alaikum Dear MIA Community,
First and foremost, we at Michigan Islamic Academy would like to thank you for your continued patience and support as we adjust to our new normal. We pray that everyone is staying safe during this pandemic, inshaAllah.
Allah (swt) blesses us with a beautiful reminder in the Qur’an, saying: “wa bashir as-Sabireen,” which means, “and give good tidings to the patient.” [al-Baqarah:155]
May Allah (swt) reward all parents, teachers, students, staff, and families for their patience and resilience in coping with and adjusting to all rapid changes throughout the previous school year. Alhamdulillah, our community continues to stand strong with faith and unity. We are no stranger to challenges, and we will continue to face this one with conviction in ease after hardship. Looking back, we have honed our problem-solving skills, strengthened our sense of togetherness, and renewed our appreciation and respect for one another. We move forward with certainty that we will overcome the challenges ahead, by the grace of Allah (swt).
At MIA, we are committed to providing the safest environment for our students and staff. We are working diligently to create a plan that aligns with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) guidelines in terms of transportation, classroom configuration, school building layouts, personal protective equipment, school schedules, and so on.
We ask for your continued cooperation as we work to make our 2020-2021 academic year safe and successful. Below you will find resources for parents, students, and staff that will provide information and answers to Covid-19-related issues.
Jazakum Allahu Khairan,
